If it were my school, the room wouldn't be dark - just a bit....orange. And they don't get sandwitches - it's all about the beer and seeing which applications still stand out when they're all riproaring drunk! :)

Just kidding on the last part, of course.

I was going to say the same thing as Tigg -- forget the sandwiches, they definitely bring cases of beer and accept the applicants they evaluate before they get rip-roaring drunk...

OMG You would love the Durham/Chapel Hill/Raleigh area. I used to live pretty close to there and have tons of friends that live there still.

Is Duke a top choice?

I've psychologically distanced myself from it becuase they are a school where the graduate school is very strong, and I feel they would probably weed me out for my GRE scores. Of coures I'd be psyched to go, but I'm not letting myself check out the website or read anything else by the professors unless I get an acceptance.

AAAAAAH I KNOW I got that email too and it had such a sense of finality. I just rechecked my little "Y"s a billion times to make sure they were still there. :)

Hehe, I did the same, although they were there the first time, the second time, and the million other times I got the email, as well.
